Shaereh Film Installation at Buffalo International Film Festival
Shaereh came to the Buffalo International Film Festival as part of BIFF Offscreen. From October 10 to 15 the film played on a loop at Duende in Silo City, and after sunset it was projected onto the grain silos during the festival’s BIG FUN party.
After a life in Iran shaped by protest, loss and exile, a woman turns to Sufi whirling as an act of embodied resistance. Through ritual movement and poetic images, Shaereh turns silence into motion and personal grief into a shared vision of women’s freedom.
